Terms of UseLogBook Anaes is provided for personal record-keeping and appraisal support only. It is not a medical device and must not be used for clinical decision-making. No warranties are given. The author is not liable for data loss or reliance on any outputs generated by this app.
Privacy & DataLogBook Anaes Cloud stores your logbook in your authenticated Firebase account. This browser also keeps an IndexedDB cache for offline continuity and sync retry. Only you have access to your logbook data unless you choose to share a supervisor link. Do not enter identifiable patient data without appropriate governance approvals.
Staff accessLogBook Anaes staff and developers do not have routine access to your logbook data. Access to Firebase infrastructure is restricted to authorised personnel for the sole purpose of service maintenance and security, and does not include routine inspection of logbook content.
Data sharing & third partiesYour logbook data — including any sanitised or aggregated form of it — will never be sold, licensed, or transferred to third parties. Stripe, Apple, or Google Play process Pro subscription payments depending on where you subscribe; LogBook Anaes stores only provider identifiers, purchase status, and entitlement status, not card or bank details. Data may only be disclosed where required by law or a statutory obligation.
The PWA may use privacy-conscious Firebase Analytics to understand basic product usage, such as app opens, imports, exports, sync status, and Pro screen activity. Analytics events never include patient data, clinical case details, hospital or procedure names, surgery dates, notes, imported file contents, names, email addresses, or Firebase user IDs.
Research & commercial useYour logbook data, even in anonymised form, will not be used for research, aggregate publications, or any commercial purpose (other than internal evaluation, product improvement, or to fulfil individual user support requests) without your explicit, informed, opt-in consent. Consent will never be obtained on an opt-out basis. Where you are invited to participate in a study, consent will be sought on a study-by-study basis with sufficient detail for you to make an informed decision.
Data storage & disaster recoveryWhen signed in, your logbook data is stored on Google Firebase, which operates across multiple geographic regions with automatic redundancy and continuous replication. In the event of hardware failure or data corruption at any single location, your data remains available from other replicas. Firebase's disaster recovery procedures are governed by Google's platform reliability commitments.
In addition, LogBook Anaes automatically takes a daily point-in-time snapshot of your cases and stores up to 10 rolling snapshots in the cloud. These can be browsed and restored at any time from the Backup page. You can also export a full JSON backup at any time from the same page.
